Next up...

Ok, so the candidates for the next book are:

The Crystal Shard - R.A. Salvatore
The Monk - Matthew Gregory Lewis
Watership Down - Richards Adams
Siddhartha - Hermann Hesse

Anything strike your fancy?

  1. you know what - they all scare me

so, you name it and I'll just read it

  2. I must confess that I've read all of them before.

Perhaps a bit of additional information would be helpful in deciding:

The Crystal Shard - I believe this was the first effort of the now notable R.A. Salvatore. The introduction of the legendary Drizzt Do'Urden to the world. It is a middle-earth type fantasy world where elves and dwarves roam. Salvatore writes amazing sword fight scenes

The Monk - one of the very first 'gothic' novels. Anne Rice before there was an Anne Rice (but no vampires). Frankenstein before there was a Mary Shelley.

Watership Down - Well, not much I can say that isn't already known.

Siddhartha - Well-to-do famous dude gives it all up to discover the meaning of life. Travels around trying different things.

  3. The monk please.
Now I shall try and persuade blogger to accept my er, profile.

  4. Here's a link to the text at Project Gutenberg

Enjoy! We'll set a deadline for discussion pending everyone's input.

And tell all your friends who you think would be interested.
